Preparing For Endoscopic Esophageal Dilation
Preparing for this procedure will require a discussion with your doctor about the medications you are taking. Anesthesia is used when this procedure is performed.
- You will want someone to drive you home. You should not drive for 24 hours afterward.
- Don’t eat for 12 hours prior to your appointment.
- Stop taking medications prior to the procedure as per your doctor’s instructions.
- Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 12 hours afterward.
